Wandering Souls of Sikkim in coordination with Bering Sudunglakha Zilla Panchayat Mrs. Madhu Sharma organized an inter school scholastic festival titled “NEEV: A Foundation for Better Future”, at Rongli Community Centre on 9th February 2019 with an objective of providing a platform for the students studying in various schools in and around Rongli to foster their creative genius. The event was supported by Block Administrative Centre, Regu.
More than 120 students from 16 Schools participated in 8 different scholastic competitions including Quiz, Essay Writing (Junior & Senior Level), Painting, Poetry Reading (English & Nepali), Elocution (Senior & Junior Level). Around 60 senior students from Chujachen Sr Sec School were also invited to attend as audience.
Junior level essay writing competition was held on the theme “My Role Model”, whereas, Senior level essay was on the theme “Social Media: Impact on Us.”
Theme for the painting competition was “Swachh Sikkim, Swasth Sikkim.”
Senior Level Elocution was themed on “Menstrual Hygiene: The Way Forward”, and girl students studying in Classes 11-12 were called to participate, whereas, junior level elocution was themed “Sikkim of my Dreams.”
Various competitions were judged by SDM Rongli Mr. A B Gurung, Sikkim University Assistant Professor Mr. Binod Bhattarai, Sikkim Manipal University Assistant Professor Mr. Prayash Gupta & Renowned Author Mr. Yuwa Baral ‘Anant’.
All the participants were awarded participation certificates and the Winning participants were awarded momentos, cash prizes, books and certificates.
The daylong event was attended by Hon’ble MLA Chujachen, Mr. Bikram Pradhan as the Chief Guest along with Sub divisional officials of various departments, representatives of various NGOs, Zilla & Gram Panchayats, teachers, students and others.
