Wandering Souls of Sikkim organised its inter school festival, NEEV: A Foundation for Better Future at Tarpin Secondary School on 6th April 2021.
The festival saw the participation of more than 100 students from 13 schools from around Rhenock in various competitions like quiz, elocution, essay writing, poetry recitation etc in various categories.Various competitions were judged by Poet D P Adhikari, Rhenock College Assistant Professors Ms. Pranamya Rai, Ms. Rachana Sharma & Ms. Karma Detsen Ongmu Bhutia.
The host of the event was Chleopus Limboo of WSOS and Siddharth Mishra and Homnath Dhungyal conducted junior and senior quiz competitions respectively; Spelling Competition was conducted by Pranamya Rai.
Neighbourhood Youth Parliament organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra in collaboration with WSOS was an important part of the festival.
SCCS Chairman Santosh Kumar Pradhan attended the day long festival as the Chief Guest and congratulated the participants & the organisers for the wonderful event and also called upon everyone to take maximum advantage of such events.
Addressing the gathering Joint Director (School Education), K B Chettri called upon the students and teachers to take active part in such competitions and take maximum advantage.
Tarpin School HM Hem Kalyani Gurung thanked WSOS for organising this edition of NEEV at the school.
WSOS Co-founder Pranay Khatiwara thanked all those who supported in organising NEEV at Tarpin.
The event was also attended by BDO Rhenock, R K Gurung, SKM Nari Shakti Vice Convenor Prabha Pradhan, Education department officials, panchayats, teachers, students and others.
This festival was organised in line with WSOS objective of laying a foundation for better future by providing a platform to the young minds in rural Sikkim to foster their creative genius.
The event was also supported by Summit Times, a renowned English daily.
WSOS shall always try to create more platforms for the young minds in the future as well.
