NEEV HELD AT TAREYTHANG SECONDARY SCHOOL ON 19th APRIL, 2022

NEEV: A FOUNDATION FOR BETTER FUTURE, AN INTER SCHOOL FESTIVAL BY WANDERING SOULS OF SIKKIM HELD AT TAREYTHANG SECONDARY SCHOOL ON 19th APRIL, 2022

Wandering Souls of Sikkim organized its inter-school festival titled NEEV: A foundation for better future at Tareythang Secondary School on 19th April 2022. The festival was supported by Bering Tareythang and Amba Gram Panchayat and saw the participation of about 70 students from 8 schools of the two GPUs in various competitive events like quiz, elocution, community reading, spell bee, debate, creative writing, etc.

Various competitions were judged by SMIMS Assistant Professor Dr. Bibhushan Dhungyal, Rhenock College Assistant Professor Bimla Bhattarai, and Tarpin School Headmistress Hem Kalyani Gurung.

Malika Kafley and Pratiksha Rizal of Tareythang Secondary School secured first and second position in the elocution competition on the theme, Reading as a therapeutic means of alleviating physical and mental health.

Anjana Rizal of Mamring Senior Secondary School secured first position in the creative writing competition followed by Mahesh Karki of Amba Secondary School in the second position.

Ayuska Rizal and Anugra Adhikari of Tareythang Secondary School secured first and second position in the Read for All (Community Reading) Competition.

Prasanna Ghimirey of Puspanjali School, Mamring and Akriti Sharma of Mamring Sr. Sec. School secured first and second position respectively in the spell bee competition.

Team comprising Rikzing Lepcha and Aditya Luitel from Puspanjali School, Mamring won the junior quiz competition followed by team comprising Ayushi Limboo and Bhusan Sharma of Mamring Sr. Sec. School in the second position.

Team comprising Sungfun Lepcha and Dewraj Dahal of Amba Secondary School won the senior quiz competition followed by team comprising Rewaj Kharka and Rashi Gurung of Tareythang Secondary School.

Anupama Sharma of Tareythang Secondary School and Narad Mani Bastola of Mamring Sr. Secondary School were adjudged 1st and 2nd Best Speaker respectively in the Debate Comopetition.

The festival was attended by B P Sharma, Deputy Director, Education Department, Pakyong as the chief guest along with Shri Yamlall Chettri, Hon’ble President, Bering Tareythang GP, Smt. Amna Basnett, Hon’ble Vice President, Amba GP, Shri Jiwan Rai, Hon’ble Panchayat, Bering Ward, PDAs of Bering Tareythang and Amba GP, Headmasters of Tareythang, Amba and Lower Bering School, Principal, Puspanjali School, Mamring, teachers, students, and others.

The Chief Guest in his speech congratulated WSOS for organizing the event and encouraged participating students to take maximum benefits from such competitive events.

WSOS Co-founder Pranay Khatiwara thanked the gram panchayats for their support in organizing the festival and congratulated the participating students for wonderfully displaying their competitive spirit.

Tareythang School HM, DK Nepal thanked WSOS for organizing NEEV at the school and called upon the students to take maximum advantage of the opportunity to compete.

The festival ended after the presentation of prizes and certificates to the winners and participants.
