IN PURSUIT OF MAKING NORTH SIKKIM DRUGS FREE
Mangan District Administration organised an Inter School Scholastic Festival at Lingchom Community Hall, Kabi on 30th May 2022. The festival was organised in pursuit of making North Sikkim Drugs Free.
The daylong festival powered by Wandering Souls of Sikkim under the guidance and direction of DC, Mangan Dr. A B Karki saw the participation of about 50 students from 7 schools around Kabi and Phodong areas in various scholastic competitions like Quiz, Debate, Elocution, Community Reading etc.
The festival was organised in pursuit of making North Sikkim Drugs Free and to provide a platform to the students to showcase their creative genius.
The festival also saw an interactive career guidance session for the students by SP, Mangan Dr. Tshering N Gyatso and a skit presented by the students of Kalzang Gyatso Sr. Sec. School, Kabi generating awareness on the harmful consequences of Drugs and Substance Abuse.
DC Mangan Dr. A B Karki attended the festival as Chief Guest along with SP Mangan Dr. Tshering N Gyatso, Education Department Officials, SDM Kabi Shri Prem Gurung, BDO Kabi Shri Sonam Tshering, Panchayats, Teachers, Students and others.
Addressing the gathering the District Collector congratulated the participants and encouraged them to inculcate competitive and learning spirit in them and to stay away from drugs and other harmful substance abuses.
Winners and Runners Up were presented attractive cash prizes, mementos and certificates. All participating students were given certificates of participation as encouragement to do good in the days ahead.
