Wandering Souls of Sikkim organised its inter-school festival titled NEEV: A foundation for better future at Amba Gram Prashasan Kendra on 23rd March 2023. The festival was supported by Amba Gram Panchayat & District TB Centre, Gangtok and saw the participation of about 80 students from 9 schools around Amba, Bering Tareythang and Taza GPUs in various competitive events like quiz, elocution, community reading etc.
Various competitions were judged by Amba Taza Zilla Panchayat Dr. Subadra Dangal, Dr. Nischay Basnet of Pakyong PHC, Mr. P P Luitel, Principal, Puspanjali School Mamring. Quiz Competiitons were conducted by WSOS Quizmaster Swapnil Dhungel.
A team comprising Chitiz Dulal & Estrella Tamang of Pushpanjali Vidhyalaya secured 1st position in the Junior Quiz Competition followed by Abhinav Kafley & Tapasya Sharma of Tareythang Secondary School in the 2nd Position.
A team comprising Deoraj Dahal & Aditya Thapa of Amba Secondary School secured 1st position in the Senior Quiz Competition followed by Dhiraj Limbu & Aadarsh Sharma of Bering Secondary School in the 2nd Position.
Bijayata Kafley of Tareythang Secondary School was adjudged the winner of the Reading Competition followed by Ujal Rai of Amba Secondary School in the 2nd position.
Deepika Dangal of Amba Secondary School won the Elocution Competition on the theme: TB Free Sikkim, followed by Ayushka Rizal of Tareythang Secondary School in the 2nd Position.
Dr. Nischay Basnet of Pakyong PHC presented a TB Talk during the event.
The festival was attended by Hon’ble MLA, Rhenock Constituency Shri Bishnu Kumar Khatiwara as the Chief Guest along with Pakyong Zilla Up Adhayksha Prabha Pradhan, Panchayats, GPK officials, teachers, students, and others.
The Chief Guest in his speech congratulated WSOS for organizing the event and encouraged participating students to take maximum benefits from such competitive events.
WSOS Co-founder Pranay Khatiwara thanked the Amba Gram Panchayat & District TB Centre, Gangtok for their support in organizing the festival and congratulated the participating students for wonderfully displaying their competitive spirit.
The festival ended after the presentation of prizes and certificates to the winners and participants.
