Tareythang, East Sikkim, 26th July 2017: Bering Tareythang Gram Panchayat Organised an Inter-school scholastic competition in collaboration with Wandering Souls Of Sikkim, on 26th July 2017 at Government Secondary School, Tareythang, East Sikkim. Students studying in classes 6-10 in the schools of Amba and Bering-Tareythang GPUs Participated in Quiz, Essay Writing and elocution competitions.
Inter College Scholastic Competition organised by WSOS
Mamring Senior Secondary School stood first in the quiz competition followed by Amba Secondary School in the second position. Tanuja Adhikari of Mamring School stood first in the elocution competition on the theme “Talking about Gorkhaland” followed by Sushang Lepcha of Amba School in the second position. Neechenmith Lepcha of Mamring School secured first position in the essay writing competition on the topic “Educational Development in Sikkim since 1975”.
Naresh Chettri, President of the Bering-Tareythang GP attended the function as the Chief Guest along with Tareythang School Head B N Khatiwaḍa, Panchayat Secretary Bhola Rizal, Bering-Tareythang RDA Jamuna Sharma, Chiran Dahal of Wandering Souls of Sikkim, teachers, parents and students.
Pranay Khatiwara of the Wandering Souls Of Sikkim said “Our group is working with an objective of providing a platform to perform to the students in the villages of Sikkim and this event was held in line with our objective.”
